Meet Megan

Megan Green, LCSW-S, RPT-S (formerly Meyerhoffer)

I feel incredibly lucky and deeply grateful to have found my calling in supporting individuals and families across all stages of life—children, teens, adults, and families—as they confront the various trials and tribulations life throws our way. As an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice. Additionally, I am a Small Group Coach for Robyn Gobbel’s Being With Program, an Advanced Practitioner and Facilitator of Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors: A Course for Parents™, a Guide for Syzygy Institute’s IFS Informed EMDR Training Program, all which further enrich my ability to support individuals and families facing unique challenges.

I am also IFS-informed and often integrate parts work into my EMDR therapy approach to support deeper understanding, compassion, and healing within the internal system. Additionally, I completed Level 1 Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) training through the Living Medicine Institute. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines the therapeutic process with the potential neurobiological and psychological benefits of ketamine in a carefully supported and intentional setting. KAP may help create increased openness, flexibility, and access to deeper emotional material, particularly for individuals navigating trauma, depression, grief, chronic stress, or long-standing protective patterns. I approach this work through a trauma-informed, relational, and nervous-system-centered lens with a strong emphasis on preparation, safety, integration, and collaborative care.

I deeply understand the power of therapy because I’ve experienced it firsthand. I come to this work with the lived experience of complex trauma and the process of mending that has included navigating complex grief, chronic protection mode, and the impacts of a chronic illness. I’ve done (and continue to do) the hard work of integration and self-growth and am firmly committed to a life of self-exploration and curiosity. I wouldn’t ask you to do something I haven’t done. The humility and reverence I hold for the therapy process fuels my passion for this work.

My approach is grounded in the belief that every behavior holds meaning and that we navigate through our pain and find healing within the context of relationships. My methods are eclectic, rooted in neurobiology and relational neuroscience, ensuring a personalized approach that meets you exactly where you are.

Based on my life experiences and training, I offer a unique, sound approach to working with suicide, grief, and people with vulnerable nervous systems due to chronic stress and/or trauma. My own life has been deeply impacted by complicated grief which has inspired me to expand my knowledge and skill in this area. In 2023, I completed Megan Devine’s Grief Care Professional Certificate Program.

Before fully immersing myself in this field, I gained valuable experience in child welfare, crisis intervention, intensive in-home therapy, school-based counseling, general individual counseling, and medical social work. Louisville, Kentucky, has been my home for most of my life, and it was here, while pursuing my bachelor's degree in an unrelated field, that I discovered my true passion for helping and connecting with others. This realization led me to study social work at Spalding University, focusing on child and family welfare, and later to deepen my expertise with a master’s degree from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work.

I deeply believe that each of us has a well of inner resources - innate wisdom and strength - to tap into/call upon when faced with life’s challenges, adversities, and chaos. My role, as I see it, is to facilitate and nurture your access to these inner resources, guiding you through the challenges of life with compassion and understanding.
